Woman, Earth, and Spirit: A Women’s Gathering for the Autumn Equinox
Presented by Dr. Karen Ross
The Autumn Equinox is a time when we begin letting go of the high energy and heat of the summer and transition into cooler weather and a slower pace. Join us for a women’s gathering where we reflect on what we can let go of during this season, and how we can understand our bodies and spirits in relation to Mother Earth. This gathering will include intention-sharing for the season, guided meditation, journaling, and discussion.
Karen Ross is an Assistant Professor of Theology and Ethics at Marquette University. She specializes in Feminist and Sexual Ethics, and is committed to helping women and girls understand their bodies and sexuality in relationship with their spirituality.
Suggested donation: $10 if able

Encounters: Jesus and Women
Presented by Sister Joy Clough, R.S.M.
Among the surprising and revealing things about Jesus of Nazareth are his encounters with women. He engaged with them, welcomed them as disciples, and left an instructive legacy for those who would follow his example and teaching. Through imaginative stories of unnamed women like the one at the well or named women like Martha and Mary, we’ll consider this legacy and what it holds for our lives.
Author and storyteller, Sister of Mercy Joy Clough has a professional background in education and communications. Now retired, she pursues a variety of volunteer activities, but places a primary focus on spinning stories that provide fresh insights into familiar New Testament scenes. Her hope is that a deeper understanding of Jesus’ full humanity – “like us in all things except sin” as St. Paul says – will nourish listeners’ faith lives and spiritual practice.
