Growing Food & Plants
At New Horizons, we build community while we grow sustenance. With two greenhouses, we plant food and native plants all year round. We believe in natural processes to provide healthy food and plants to serve human and environmental wellness.
Volunteer to help plant, cultivate, and harvest our fruit and vegetables, which we give directly to those in need, donate to area food banks and shelters, or preserve. Some of our produce is sold at the local farmers market.
We also grow a variety of native plants. Native plants are natural to the region, and provide economical landscaping opportunities that enable the flourishing of life, such as inviting “friendly” wildlife, which balances out our ecosystems and controls pests such as mosquitoes in a natural way. We partner with landscaping organizations that plant for wildlife; we find natural ways to build and sustain healthy outdoor environments for all living creatures – human and other!

Meal Preparation
Volunteer to harvest and preserve produce, and to prepare food and meals that will go directly to those in need, to food banks, or to shelters.
We offer freezer meal workshops, where we prepare multiple meals that can be frozen for families in need. Volunteer for freezer meal preparation, or sponsor a family.
Sponsor a family’s frozen meals. Get a discount if you order meals for yourself and provide the same meals for a family. We offer a discount when you buy a meal for yourself, and the same meal to be given to a family in need.
